Ramblings
A friend and I where talking about rough paths in life, and if the grass really is greener on the other side. I came to a conclusion, and I hope it shows through in this poem.
If you like it, leave a comment! I should would appreciate some feedback!
From Where I Stand
Is the road really tougher from where I stand?
Is it steeper, or covered with more rocks?
Your road looks smoother, even sort of grand.
How did you get there, to the road you’re on?
Did we start the same, or where you born better?
I sure wish I knew; I sure wish you cared.
So even though we will always walk side by side,
Our paths will never, ever collide.
You will be you, and I will be I,
Never anything, but side by side.

Fiction, My Writing, Prose
Hey guys, I’m so excited to be posting this!
I’ve finally finished the short story I’ve been working on for a while now. It’s sorta been on and off because of work and other things getting in the way. But this last week I just buckled down and got it done. I’m really happy with the result, and I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks!
I would really appreciate it if everyone would leave some sort of comment about what you liked, and more importantly, what you didn’t. I’d really like to hear some criticism on this, but please be constructive! Let me know what you think and could have done better and HOW I could do it. If you could all do that for me, I would be eternally grateful.
So, if you’d like to read my latest work of fiction, please click below! I would have put it on this page, but it’s a bit long to be on the front page

My Writing, Verse
I’m going to be leaving in about 2 and a half weeks for my mission. I’ll report to the MTC on March 12, 2008 and arrive in my mission (Texas Houston East Mission) on April 2, 2008. I can hardly wait to get there and serve the Lord. But while I’m gone I’ll miss my friends and family sorely.
I wrote this for them:
Leaving Soon
I can hardly believe I’m almost gone,
I wonder what I’ll miss the most.
I have so many things to choose,
So many things I just can’t lose.
There’s my family, that’s for sure.
Then my friends, I can’t pretend.
I’ll miss the nights we spent together,
The one’s that I’ll remember forever.
I hope that the things I miss the most,
The things that I hold dear and close,
Remember me and miss me too,
So your love can sooth my soul.
So while I’m gone write to me,
For then will your care be plain to see.
And I’ll write back with love in mind,
Returning what you sent in kind.
So do you best to do without,
‘Cause before you know,
I’ll be back in your life and you in mine,
The life we will live will be sublime.

My Writing, Verse
This is my little rendition of a goodbye note from a brave Soldier to a loved one. My Dad is a member of the armed services and I’ve always wondered if he pre-wrote a goodbye letter to my Mom. I still don’t know, because some things you just don’t ask a man, but this is what I think it may have looked like:
Scratch away a goodbye note
Scratch goes the scribble of my pen.
As I write to you way back when.
I tell you I love you, I tell you I care,
When all that I want is to have you there.
I was so far away back then.
I went to the north, then the south.
I traveled east, before I went west.
It was for you that I went,
I went to places so distant.
I went to protect you,
I believed it was true.
But I’m sorry to say,
If you read this today,
I’ve finally gone my way.
Though I come home to you,
It will be in a tomb,
As still as a child in the womb.
But remember my dear,
Though my body is gone,
I will always be here.

My Writing, Verse
I wrote a new poem today. I think when I get home from my mission in two years I’ll have enough to publish a book of poetry. That would be pretty cool, don’t you think?
Well anyways, here it is. A poem inspired by some friends of mine
What you see is what you get
Sometimes what you see is what you get.
Sometimes a hug is just a hug.
Sometimes friends can share a blanket.
And it doesn’t have to mean a thing.
Sometimes a friend is just a friend.
Sometimes that’s all you really need.
Sometimes I’ll hold your hand,
Just to feel the comfort there.
If you’re wondering about me,
You don’t have to look too far,
‘Cause what you see is what you get.
